WOW….I really hope this comes and I don’t have any reason to believe that it won’t! It’s so funny because my hubby bought me a Snuggie over the weekend and I frickin LOVE it! When these first came out I thought they were ridiculous but then my mind changed and I have secretly wanted one, haha….you know you secretly want one too!!!  I didn’t even tell hubby that I wanted one but he knows me so well, LOL.

• Log onto Freecycle and other reuse groups to search listings of items being given away by people in your town.
• Craigslist has a whole category dedicated to "free stuff" for each of its participating cities. Find everything from cardboard boxes to electric sewing machines to computer games.
• Search for free reusable items with the Local Reuse application on your iPhone.
• CouchSurfing connects travelers with hosts around the globe. The result: You get both a free place to stay and locals to hang out with for an inside glimpse of other cultures.
• Want free accommodations while travelling, but aren't up for sleeping on a couch? Use Digsville, Home Base Holidays, HomeExchange.com, and HomeLink to find traditional home-exchange opportunities.
• Favorpals is all about helping you trading skills and favors. Clean someone's house in exchange for dog walking when you're at work or for tutoring your kid in math. Or offer painting services and get help with designing a website.
• You can trade anything from babysitting and calligraphy lessons to pianos and foosball tables to cars and boats at U-Exchange.
• Swap books, music, DVDs, or video games via mail through Swaptree. Print a postage label right from your computer for easy mailing.

Free Books!

I love to read and but I usually can afford to purchase the book when they first come out so it either used when I get it or from the Library. But getting a free book before it's released is definitely better! I have found the following  publishing houses that offeres free books.

Harper Collins has the First Look program which this month offers 12 different books in the genres I chose. You just send them a quick message on their contact form saying why you'd like to review the book and they let you know when the drawing date for receiving the book is. They ask you to write a brief (2-3 sentence) review of the book. I love this program because they let you know the outcome of each drawing you applied for. The book is shipped free of charge right to your home. It's free to sign up so click here!

Random House also has a program called Read it Forward where you receive a monthly newsletter from them highlighting at least one book that you can email them and request a copy of. Again, it is free to sign up by clicking here.

There is another new book program called Reader Spoils that I recently joined. Here authors are paying (with Starbucks gift cards) you to read their book and write a review on Amazon or another designated site. This one is also free to join by clicking here. They say they will let you know via email when they have a new book for you to review, but so far I haven't received any. I'm keeping my fingers crossed because I love FREE BOOKS!
